He was getting open looks at the 3 point line and he would hesitate to shoot it. Why cant he do a little fake and drive and pull up for a jump shot. I would really like to see Stan take more shots and Kemba Walker drive in with the ball more and draw the foul. The kid has tremendous tallent and its unfair to put all this pressure on him but id love to see him take over moreAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35545669.post-34447994856430981762009-02-17T22:09:00.000-05:002009-02-17T22:09:00.000-05:00Well, I hate to pick on the kid because by all acc...Well, I hate to pick on the kid because by all accounts he's a great kid and an excellent student, but ... Haralson was brought here to be a shooter and, to this point, he has shown no signs of being one. He shot poorly in his very limited game action earlier in the season, and from what I've witnessed in practice, he's not making his shots there, either.

Donnell Beverly intrigues me a little bit. I've seen bits and pieces of his game in pick-up games and in practice, and he can do a few things. But I don't think he's an adequate substitute for Dyson, either.

To me, it really hinges on Stanley Robinson. I think Price and Walker will step up their games offensively, and Austrie will be solid on both ends of the floor. If they can just get 8 points/10 boards out of Robinson, along with his good defense, that will heal the wound quite a bit.David Borgeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18076952029033761095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35545669.post-4143465173741842392009-02-17T21:29:00.000-05:002009-02-17T21:29:00.000-05:00na but fields hand checks like crazy and if Hash l...na but fields hand checks like crazy and if Hash learned to plant his feet when Blair steamrolls into him, Blair could have picked up more fouls. Dave why do you thing Calhoun hasnt gone to Scottie Harralson, our knock down shooter supposedly, for at least a couple minutes to see if he could put up a couple 3's, is it because his defense is bad or just Calhoun would rather put Stanley and Craig who are too afraid to shoot and Drive the ball in and finish strong? By the way i'm actually very happy we played somewhat well without DysonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35545669.post-34576085054440295352009-02-17T19:32:00.000-05:002009-02-17T19:32:00.000-05:00Setting aside the idea that the refs allowed Pitt ...Setting aside the idea that the refs allowed Pitt to be as physical as they wanted to be (and, by extension, UConn too) I didn't think the officiating was overly awful last night.

Thabeet's fourth foul was a joke, I agree. That's a chintzy call, especially for a fourth foul on an integral player. And while I originally thought the over-the-back call on Thabeet was fair, replays do seem to show Blair sort of yanking Thabeet over his back.

And I admit Kitts' conversation with a Pitt player about an out-of-bounds play was odd.

Other than that, though, I don't think there were any grave injustices. Pitt had just as many players in foul trouble as UConn, and I didn't see a preponderence of poor calls either way.David Borgeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18076952029033761095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35545669.post-49289950937397735182009-02-17T16:44:00.000-05:002009-02-17T16:44:00.000-05:00I couldnt believe the no calls in last nights game...I couldnt believe the no calls in last nights game? Blair throws hasheem to the ground, foul on hasheem? Blair constantly uses moving picks and then lowers his shoulder into the defense. It seems like all the Pitt games are decided by whether the refs tolerate the game or give Blair the deserved foulsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35545669.post-5825284576104052512009-02-17T14:31:00.000-05:002009-02-17T14:31:00.000-05:00Blair?I always thought you were more of a Jo- NBlair?
I always thought you were more of a Jo
- NAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
