Beverly finishes visit
Donnell Beverly concluded his two-day official visit to the University of Connecticut on Friday and will wait until next week to make his college commitment.
The 6-foot-4 senior point guard from Leuzinger (Calif.) High School outside Los Angeles will confer with his family and high school coach Reggie Morris before deciding between UConn, Florida State and Texas A&M, even with the departure of coach Billy Gillispie to Kentucky. Beverly said he is favoring the Huskies, who have offered him one of the two possible scholarships for next season.
Also on campus for an unofficial visit was Herve Banogle, a 6-foot-8 forward and Cameroon product who missed most of this season with a broken hand at Howard County (Tx.) Junior College.
