Hall of Fame Challenge particulars

A few particulars were announced by the University of Connecticut on Tuesday morning regarding the 2007 Hall of Fame Challenge.

- The one-day doubleheader will be played at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston on Dec. 1.

- ESPN will televise the event nationally. Connecticut-Gonzaga will be televised on ESPN at 3:30 p.m. followed by Boston College-Providence at 6 p.m. on ESPN Classic.

- For UConn, the game will serve as the first of a neutral-neutral series with Gonzaga. In December, 2008, the Huskies will play the Bulldogs at Key Arena in Seattle.

- Boston College and Providence were in the midst of a home-and-home series, the first since the Eagles moved to the Atlantic Coast Conference. Both teams agreed to suspend the series a year to play in the Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge.

- Tickets for the doubleheader go on sale Sept. 4 at all Ticketmaster locations as well as Ticketmaster.com. Each school will have tickets available to its students, boosters and alumni in August.
