Clean Bill of Health for Calhoun

Jim Calhoun was released this morning from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a clean bill of health. His grandchildren came to town last night, and he's reportedly in very good spirits. Calhoun was with the team at practice earlier today at The Palestra.

Calhoun will conduct his scheduled press conference today at 2:40 p.m.

Dave,

What are your thoughts on trends that the postseason is following.

i.e.
-titles in '99 and '04 now we are five years later in '09
-both of the previous titles we were seeded in the west region
-in both of those title runs calhoun missed a game (or part of). Round 1 in '99, round 2 in '04, and round 1 in '09.

Seems strikingly similar to me. Maybe the stars might be aligning at the perfect time!

That is a list of rather interesting coincidences. I have to admit I've never understood why reporters would ask Jim Calhoun things like, "You won your two national titles out in the West Region, does that make you feel good about being in the West again?" Honestly, what does that have to do with anything? Let's not forget, they were in the West Region last year, too.

But the list of ironies is long, and if you believe in fate and stuff like that, things look pretty good for UConn.
